As we sweat into clothing and sports gear, bacteria and moisture collect which can result in the spread of harmful bacteria and cause health issues. The National Athletic Trainers’ Association in the U.S. released guidelines to keep bacteria, odour or worse at bay.
- Shower immediately after each practise or competition
- Wash all clothing worn during practise or competition after each use
- Clean and disinfect gym or hockey bags
- Wash athletic gear periodically and hang to dry
- Clean and disinfect protective equipment such helmets, pads and goalie gear on a regular basis
- Do not share towels or personal hygiene products with others
Cleaning your equipment is an important step in reducing the growth of bacteria such as MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus), it is also important to properly dry and store your gear in a cool and ventilated area, outside the bag. That’s why Mom says “leave it in the garage.”
Clean Equipment is a fast, effective and cost friendly way to sanitize and deodorize your hockey gear without using harsh chemicals and eliminates the need for home washing. We come to you at the rink and take care of the entire team, keeping all players healthy and safe off the ice.
